All features, including, but not limited to, hot tub jets, lazy river, spray features, water slide, sauna, and steam room, will be turned off ten minutes before the end of the swim or closing.

Don Nakata Recreational Pool:

Kept at approx. 83 degrees. Includes zero-depth entry beach, lazy river, tot pool, four lap lanes, 12-foot dive tank (1-meter/3-meter diving boards, and water slide: hot tub, steam room and sauna.

Ray Williamson Competition Pool: (currently closed for construction)

Kept at approx. 79 degrees. Includes six (25 yard) lap lanes.

The four lanes in the Don Nakata Pool are kept at 83° F. Lap swimmers must be 13 years old and have level four swimming skills.*

Drop-in Programs:

Lap Swim

Lap lanes are allocated for continuous lap swimming.  Lap swimmers must be at least eight and have American Red Cross level four swim skills. Construction Considerations: During the Ray Williamson pool closure, the following temporary guidelines will be enforced: During open lap time, lap lanes can take a maximum of three swimmers at a time. Two swimmers may split a lane; three swimmers must circle swim. You may swim a maximum of 45 minutes in the lap lanes when people are actively waiting in line. Children 8 to 12 years of age who are qualified to swim laps must use the mini lap lanes for safety during construction.

Mini Lap Swim

Two mini lanes are scheduled in the dive tank for those who are not concerned with distance. For safety, children 8 to 12 years of age who are qualified to swim laps must use the mini lap lanes during construction.

Beach & River Swim

At this time, the pool is allocated for families and children to enjoy the beach, river, and tot pool only. Children under seven must always have an adult within arm’s reach in the water. Non-swimmers or individuals of any age deemed concerning by staff may also be required to always have a guardian in the water.

Open Swim

The water park is open for recreational swimming, and it includes a hot tub, steam room, sauna, diving area, waterslide, lazy river, and beach. Children under 15 must have a swim license to use the lap area and the pool’s deep end.  Swim license testing can be done at the dive tank at the beginning of any scheduled Open Swim time. Children under seven years old without a swim license must have an adult within arm’s reach in the water. Non-swimmers or individuals of any age deemed concerning by staff may also be required to always have a guardian in the water. Waterslide requirements: Must be 42 inches tall to ride the slide. One person is permitted on the slide at a time.

Assisted Swim

Pool space is allocated for individuals who require a helper or caregiver to support them while in the water.

Water Walking

Space for participants who enjoy water walking.

Water Exercise Class

Space is reserved at this time for a variety of instructor-led water exercise classes. Please see the Water Exercise tab for fees and class descriptions.

Open Adult Exercise

For drop-in adult open area water exercise or enjoyment. Scheduled either in the deep end or the beach area.

Hot Tub, Steam Room, and Sauna

The hot tub is kept at 101 to 103°. It is open to those 13 years and older whenever the facility is open to the public. The sauna and steam room are available to those 13 years and older whenever the facility is open to the public. The hot tub, sauna, and steam room are the same fee as a regular pool admission. The hot tub, steam room, and sauna are off-limits to youth teams, unless approved by staff, and may close 15 minutes before the facility closes. Kid-friendly hot tub time is allocated on the schedule. Please adhere to the kid-friendly guidelines: For ages three and up, you must have an adult in the water within arm’s reach, no toys or floats, and no going underwater. Removal from the hot tub for any reason decided by staff.

 Swim Lessons for All

Swim lessons are available for individuals requiring a small group environment and for those with anxiety, physical, sensory, communication, and/or behavioral challenges.

BISC

Bainbridge Island Swim Club is a youth progressive swim team program for ages 6 to 18. Please see the BISC tab for coach and tryout information.

BAM

Bainbridge Aquatic Masters, an adult progressive swim team ages 18 and up. Please see the BAM tab for coach and tryout information.

Water Polo
